Carrying the Nasdaq gains were Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN) +4.0%, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) +2.59% and NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) +2.17%.
Basic Materials was the weakest sector overnight down 1.79% with stocks like Rio Tinto (NYSE: RIO) -1.96% and BHP Group Ltd (NYSE: BHP) -1.53% as the iron ore price was weak.
Gold is holding at US$4,006/oz.
